Fern & Kiwi Bar and Eatery

Sponsored Review

I believe that many of you had walked passed Clark Quay taxi stand and happen to saw Fern & Kiwi Bar And Eatery. But how many of you had check it out?

#FunFact
Do you know that Fern & Kiwi serves New Zealand food?
Well, their food are really fresh, promising you the best quality you can imagine.

And KIAORA means HELLO in native Zealand language! I really love how they add in small details to make me feel like I'm very close to NZ.

Now, time to tour around. I really love how they use a spiral stairs to lead me up to the level 2 where it's really cozy to dine in and the interior design is really fantastic.

Really nice right? I mean, the lights and the design of the walls really beautify the place and make it so cozy that you might thought that you are dining at NZ's home!

Alright. Time for some food! Are you ready?

Wellingtonian (Tomato Pizza)
Slow roasted tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella with parmesan and basil gremolata

The favorite dish by the bar. The thin crust and the mixture of the cheese and tomato just makes want to cleared the whole pizza within minutes! Can you picture it in your mind and feel it?

Sea salt & pepper squid
Lemon, sweet soy, coriander and chili dressing

Salt and pepper is one of the best way to cook really fresh food. However, with the mixture of the lemon, sweet soy, coriander and chili dressing, it became something I had never tried before! And the squid was so perfectly cooked. And you don't feel the oil when you eat it. Good job!

Pan Seared Scallops
Served with grilled asparagus, poached egg and hollandaise sauce with mushroom soil and shaved parmesan. Dipping the fresh scallop into the peached egg and then eat it with the mushroom soil. One word - Wonders!

12 hours Braised Lamb Shank

One way to know if it's well done is to use a fork to slide the meat off the bone. Well, it came off nicely. The taste was good. It was juicy and not too salty. The mixture of mesh potatoes was good. Something unique!

Pork Spare Ribs

If you didn't order this, I guess you haven't really tried. The juice from the ribs along with the special sauce was just too "WOW". The meat just melted off the ribs so easily in a medley of fats, tender fibers of pork and juice. If you ever had a hankering for pork ribs, you know where to go. It's really good. Highly recommended!
The ribs come in 4, 6 and 12.

New Zealand King Salmon Fillet

It was served on a bed of green lipped mussels and sumac risotto with dill creme fraiche and vie tomato confit. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of cooked Salmon. However, this was different. It was not fully cooked and you can still taste the freshness of the King salmon. Totally worth a shot!

And now, it's dessert time!

Hot Chocolate Pudding

Different! I thought it would be like the usual molten chocolate we usual find in the cafes, But this was really different! Try it to know the wonders behind it!

Kiwi Eton Pavlova

Crushed pavlova and raspberry snow with passion fruit, kiwi, chantilly cream and doris plum ice-cream. Ever try such a different dessert? I bet the answer is no! GIVE IT A SHOT!
The plum ice-cream was very tasty and refreshing, totally redolent of the exotic richness of plum. Mixture of different fruits and the chantilly cream with the crushed pavlova. Thumbs up!

So if you are thinking of a great place for a authentic NewZealand meal, do consider Fern & Kiwi Bar and Eatery. It is also a good place for gathering and feeling comfortable and chilling.

Just Saying

So just yesterday, I saw a blog post on a particular blogger which he didn't name but I manage to find out who is he. So out of curiosity, I check out his blog.

I realize that some bloggers are really using this blogging platform to earn money or get free sponsors. And 1 thing I realize about him is that he actually won't even share when the things are not sponsored. Well, take it this way. You blog because you want to share your views and thoughts right? If you think that the venue you had found is good and convenient then share it. Why don't you share it? Just because it's not sponsored? And he even said that he don't want to do free advertisement for the place.

I don't know if you are getting the point but I personally feel that as a blogger, you really have to be more generous in sharing instead of changing your blogging platform into something that you use to earn money. Fame isn't gain just because you get a few sponsors but because people recognize you for who you are. People don't read blogs just because they think you are hot or what, but they like your style of blogging and the way you write.

And to add on, one of the sponsors was on photography but when i scroll through the pictures, they are just so out of focus. So, instead of publicizing it, I think it will affect the company instead. Yeah?

Okay, that's about all. Anyway, I'm just saying. I have nothing against him but just some thoughts that I think I need to share. Yeah.

If you want to climb somewhere high, do it the right way.

Alight, shall do my work. Will be back shortly in a few days time. Been really busy with my internship!
And to everyone reading this, jiayou!

Happy 3 Bites Cafe

Sponsored Food Review

So I was invited over to Happy 3 Bites Cafe the other day! And guess what? I really love the place there! And it's a NEA approved pet's cafe, which means pets lover can bring their pets to dine in with them and it's very clean and hygienic since NEA approve them right? Anyway, Happy 3 Bites Cafe was open on the 26th Jan 2014, which is about 2 months plus old, yet their food is really amazing. I mean some new cafe, they are still trying out many food and some might be kinda suckish right? But the food there are amazing!

The food are all done by the owner of the cafe. He came out with his very own recipe and it's really very delicious! I mean, you really need to pay them a visit to witness it yourself lor! Okay la, i don't talk so much okay? Pictures time!

Cabonara (Bacon)! MY FAVOURITE! The bacons were all fried before mixing it together with the pasta! Some lazy ones would just cook it together but Happy 3 Bites Cafe took extra effort to perfect the food! JUST TRY IT! SUPER LOVE IT PLEASE!!!!!

Aglio Olio (Shroom) which you can really enjoy the mushroom! Not a few pieces but a lot a lot of it! Really fresh and yummy!!

Chicken Cutlet! One of their new dish! I mean it's not like you can't eat it outside but instead of using the normal vegetable oil, they used olive oil the fry! Healthy right? And the fries is those that you will ask for more one lor! Super good!

Signature Kaya Cheese Cake! Something special! <3

Nutella Cheese Cake! Chocolate lovers? Try it!

Durian Pengat (mixed of 3 different durians - Mao Shan Wang, D24 & Sultan ) This is their top seller! Limited to 30 cups a day! Grab it before it's sold out! SHIOK!

Cucumber Freeze! Something new to me! Well, after all the oily food, this really refresh me up! And to those who had worked or studied for the whole day, it will recharge you! SUPER DUPER LOVE THIS!

 Interview in progress

With the boss Xavier (Ignore my messy hair please)

The interior of the cafe :)
Really love the interior of it because it might not be a very very big cafe but it's really very cosy with the lighting and the decoration! They have chalk wall with the very nice drawing and recommendation of the food choice! Very convenient right? The place is very homely and since it's a pet's cafe, you get to bond your pets over a meal right? Like you take a scroll with your dog, then suddenly you felt hungry, then this is the place you will enter! Cause even kopitiam cannot take pets in lehhh!

So yeah, getting there?

Naumi Hotel Staycation

So I'm sure you guys know that in recent years, staycation is a very popular choice among Singaporeans. This is due to the hectic lifestyle. So, I had a chance to pop into Naumi Hotel the other day for a stay! Their service was excellent!

Meet up with le bff at City Hall MRT before heading over. It was just a 5 to 7 minutes walk away.

We check in at about 3pm. After checking in at the counter, the counter lady brought us up to our room. She took us around the room, telling us what and where are the things in the room. I really love their service.

So here's how the room looks. I was actually quite shock to see a bolster. Many hotels do not come with a bolster but it's good! I can't sleep without a bolster lor!!

And here's the toilet area! The toilet was divided with glass! #Atas and le bff was like. OMG! No privacy leh! And the lady press the 'magic glass' and it became translucent! We were amazed by it lor! Maybe I'm a frog living under the well! HAHA! *and ignore my umbrella* It was raining when we check in! HAHA

Then they have this pull-out bar area where you can make coffee and drink. They also provide 3 small bottles of liquor! So cute of them! And they have wine glasses in 3 different sizes! But I was too excited that i forgot to take photo of it! HAHA!

So we end up enjoying ourself in the comfy King size bed! And took photos!!

But the other ones didn't turn out too good! And yes! We coincidentally wore the same shirt that we bought for CNY! HAHA! And we were like! Awkward when we had lunch and dinner!

So what I can conclude about the hotel was that everything was good but the lift broke down when we came back from dinner! But they offered us a drink before we head up to our room! And the lady followed us to our room after the drink! 6th floor by stairs. We told the lady, it's ok la! And she was like it's my job and she smile when she replied. How nice right? I think I'll be like. Sure? Okay! And walk back to my counter! HAHA!

So yes, I can say that the service there is excellent and I really recommend you guys to Naumi if you need a short staycation break! Very worth!
